With 2021 now well underway, we’ve been reflecting on another year and all of the projects and client engagements we’ve been lucky enough to work on in 2020.

A new property website for one of Edinburgh’s top legal firms

In February – and in collaboration with Design Partners, Wolffe – we helped Edinburgh based Legal firm, Lindsays redesign their property team’s website and property search. The project kicked off in 2019 with a 2 day Design Sprint to define the new IA (information architecture) and map the user experience (UX). Watching a team of lawyers and estate agents debate each other’s sketches (and agree the solution) was a real highlight and proves anyone can design a website… with the right formula of course.

Lindsays Property Website

Within 4 months we had prototyped, designed and built the new web presence; just in time for the brand to launch a regional advertising campaign, created by the talented team at Wolffe.

A dramatic departure from their previous online presence, the site is fully optimised for a mobile user experience. Key features include advanced property search (fully integrated with their property sales database), property email alerts and a flexible content management system built on Drupal 8.

A digital strategy for a golf tourism and destination marketing organisation

Scotland’s Golf Coast started working with Bridge in 2019, when they engaged us to help plan and execute a test & learn advertising campaign to target key international markets.

In 2020, the group reengaged us to define a new digital marketing strategy; plan and develop a new website; build capability through the recruitment of specialist marketing & PR partners and evidence results via interactive dashboards and quarterly performance reporting to members. Just a minor engagement then …

The new marketing strategy rolled out in March 2020 and then, suddenly, the Scottish hospitality & tourism market found itself having to operate under the most challenging conditions imaginable.

Nevertheless, the group’s new digital presence  began to perform well and after 6 months the group was in a position to report positive growth and regular conversion statistics to its members.

Product & brand marketing strategy for SmartHome security tech startup

In April, we were approached by SmartHome security and tech startup, Boundary Technologies. Spotting a gap in the UK market, Boundary has developed an innovative wireless SmartHome security system, which challenges and redefines the household burglar alarm.

As a small but growing team, Boundary needed to build rapid, senior capability to move forward faster and progress all aspects of their brand communications and product marketing.

They team had a great product, but they needed to define a cut-through brand communication strategy to challenge existing giants such as Google (Nest) and Amazon (Ring) as well as established players such as Simplisafe and ADT.

Our team of experts got to work immediately, kicking things off with a Design Sprint to quickly define Boundary’s consumer messaging strategy. Following which, we introduced our trusted Partner and specialist brand consultancy, Monumentum, who worked to ideate and art-direct a new campaign style and visual brand world.

Characters from Boundary’s 3D brand world

Collaborating with Boundary, Monumentum and 3D animation studio Interference Pattern, the team developed a 3D character world to showcase Boundary’s SmartHome security system and provide stand-out in a category that’s drowning in sterile lifestyle imagery of white families in white houses.

We used Bob and Bella’s home life as a visual conduit, to demonstrate the many ways Boundary gives them the edge over other alarm systems.

Matt Robinson, Creative Director, Monumentum

We continued to work with Boundary to define their go-to-market launch strategy. We developed a comprehensive product marketing plan and strategy for growth, factoring in the power of network effects as well as a launch channel and digital first media strategy.

The product is launching in early 2021 and we are so excited to see the campaign go live. It’s been a joy to work on such an exciting product and a team who truly embrace deep collaboration along with a ‘just do it’ attitude.

Product positioning and microsite for award-winning earth observation startup

In July, we were referred to a very exciting Edinburgh based software startup, who are developing a product to make Earth Observation data accessible to the masses. Earth Blox approached Bridge with a few key challenges. They needed to develop a clear brand and product positioning applied to an updated microsite. Fairly straightforward we thought … until we realised the deadline was in 7 days … just in time for a major announcement involving Google and the UN. No pressure.

Ordinarily, we’d roll our sleeves up and  run a collaborative (face to face) workshop to accelerate the process and deliver within such a tight timescale.  However, with lockdown in full swing, we turned to our new favourite remote collaborator tool, Mural, which enables us to run remote workshops using a virtual whiteboard.

Fast forward the clock 4 days and Earth Blox had a new brand positioning statement, a new landing page prototype, designed and built (complete with integrated lead capture form) and a much clearer set of key product messages. Not bad for 5 days of work …

A new Interactive map tracking Build to Rent (BTR) developments in Scotland

Scarlett Land & Development have been a client since we started in 2017. A specialist commercial real estate, land and development consultancy, Scarlett have been keeping track of all of the BTR (Build to Rent) sites and developments in Scotland. The team came up with the idea of  designing a  live and interactive map to list all of the developments whilst providing a useful reference for the industry.

Building upon their existing WordPress website, we defined a quick spec, created a prototype and our extended team built an interactive tool, with custom Google Maps and interactive charts.  The interactive map now acts as the most authoritative list of BTR (including Mid Market Rent) developments in the country.

The design worked so well, Scarlett decided to replicate it to showcase all of the Scottish PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) developments too.

A new online presence for one of the world’s top sustainability brands

We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Ecometrica, consulting on everything from SEO to performance analytics.  So when they approached us to put together a hybrid team to redesign their website, we were delighted to get involved.

Ecometrica wanted to develop a website which would showcase their award-winning sustainability reporting tools and act as a lead generation tool, fuelling their sales pipeline.

They also needed a flexible platform which would give the team maximum control and speed to internally adapt and update the site as the business continued to evolve through the next cycle of growth.

Ecometrica Design Sprint

To kick things off, we started with a Design Sprint, consisting of Bridge Consultants  and the senior management team at Ecometrica.

After a successful workshop, our Design Lead worked with the in-house brand team to develop an effective UI style guide to form the bedrock of the new site.  With the UI pattern agreed, the team built the site upon one of the World’s most popular WordPress theme builders.

As part of the project, we also supported the team in identifying and selecting a 3rd party marketing automation tool to support their lead generation and nurture strategy.

Finally, and as the organisation transitions to a ‘content-led’ inbound marketing strategy, our team ran a series of content marketing and SEO workshops with teams in both the UK and Canada.

A new online presence for motivational speaker agency on a mission to inspire change

Our final project of 2020 kicked off in September, when we worked with our friends and fellow co-working colleagues at start-up speaker agency, Speaker Buzz to redesign their new website.

Having assembled a design and development team, we worked with Speaker Buzz to produce a new web-presence which includes a bespoke search function, showcasing the company’s database of motivational speakers.

A key driver for Speaker Buzz was to host related content for each speaker, including videos and podcasts  as well as the ability to create specific landing pages for topics such as Mental Health.

The new site uses WordPress technology and boasts a  bespoke CMS page builder, speaker management system and integrated content via YouTube, iTunes and Spotify.

It goes without saying, 2020 has been a hugely challenging year and we are so grateful to our clients (existing and new) who trusted us to support them as we all began to navigate the ‘new normal’. We are equally thankful to have such a wonderful team of expert Associates and Partners whom we collaborate with every day to help our clients move forward faster.
